"This bad is awesome . . . except it has no waist strap. When expanded, it holds about 30L, perfect for a week-long (or longer) trip for smart packers. But when fully packed, it needs a waist strap for support. I was excited when I could fit enough for a 9-day international trip in it, but returned it because I didn't want to be hauling it through airports, trains, etc. with all the weight on my shoulders. A strange omission, I think."

"I recently used this backpack/duffel as my personal item on a plane and it was absolutely perfect! You can store items in one compartment vertically(laptop, book, snacks) and use the other large front compartment for toiletries and clothes, etc. smaller zipper pocket on front has secure closure feature to prevent theft. I also love that I can grab the sturdy handles and carry it as a duffel bag if needed. Cactus color is unique and stylish."

"I bought this pack to use as a "personal item" and store it beneath the airline seat. The measurements are exactly those specified by the airlines I fly. I got it online, and when it arrived, I saw that it was well-made, with solid zippers and fabric. The first thing I did was unzip the extension panel, which provided an additional 2 inches of depth. The pack consists of a vertical top-opening backpack and a compact horizontal duffel on the opposite side. The duffel compartment is ideal for carrying a pair of shoes or sweaty gym clothes."
